Multibanco payments in Portugal via Novalnet

Strengthen your position in the Portuguese E-commerce sector and ensure greater value for local customers by integrating the Multibanco payment method. Supporting local payment experiences has never been so easy.

Multibanco is an ATM network and debit card system that unifies 64 banks, 4 saving banks and 110 cooperation banks within Portugal. Thus, access to all the most important Portuguese payment institutions can be established at once through the Novalnet payment gateway.

With Multibanco, the customers can complete their payments either at one of the widely-used Multibanco ATMs or via their online banking system. As soon as the customer approves the payment, Novalnet informs the merchant's system in real time so that goods can be dispatched immediately.

Security Note: To complete a Multibanco payment, the customer receives a payment reference and a unit number (in addition to the amount) without being redirected to an external page. A maximum amount of 9,999€ can be paid with Multibanco, but no minimum limit exits for a transaction.

Easy integration to the Portuguese payment sector

To fulfill individual expectations during Multibanco integration and ensure that no technical understanding is required from the merchants side, Novalnet employs an in-house technical team who will help to set everything up in no time.
