Novalnet is a payment institution (ZAG) accredited by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and authorized to provide financial services throughout the European Economic Area in accordance with the Payment Services Supervision Act (“Zahlungsdiensteaufsichtsgesetz”– ZAG).
As a registered payment institution, Novalnet, fulfils a multitude of supervisory regulations related to money laundering prevention, data protection, risk management, internal audit and much more. To remain compliant, Novalnet is regularly audited by several auditors such as Deutsche Bundesbank, BaFin and other regulatory bodies including the card schemes (VISA, MasterCard, etc.).
Additionally, Novalnet deposits all the received funds in insolvency-proof open escrow accounts. Thus, the funds are protected against insolvency by the payment institution and no credit institution may claim rights of retention, set-off, etc.
