We spoke to the head of business development, Ms Cristina Stoian:
What were your expectations when you started your search for a payment service provider?
Until we found Novalnet, we had sold our products only to pharmacies using a single payment type: invoice. With the launch of our online business in July this year, we wanted to offer consumers the opportunity to purchase products directly from us. It was evident that we had to proceed differently, since the terms offered to wholesalers and pharmacies, given their exceptional positive payment record, could not be provided unconditionally to all customers. This is the reason why we wanted to protect ourselves from this risk, with a comprehensive fraud prevention system and in the event of fallouts in payment, with an automated accounts receivable management. Implementing and executing all this on our side, would have implied a lot of time investment as well as higher personnel costs. Thus, we sought a flexible and experienced payment service provider in particular with the necessary expertise to meet our needs. This payment provider should ultimately be able to offer payment options for a various number of countries, very fast.
Why did you choose Novalnet AG as your payment service provider?
We sell our nutritional supplements mostly in the German-speaking area, consequently our requirement was to be able to integrate direct debit for Germany and Austria as well as credit card payment in our shop. Being in personal contact with the Novalnet team we were quickly convinced of their respectability. Another important fact was the existing cooperation with well-known customers. What are the unexpected advantages of Novalnet, some aspects which you did not initially anticipate?
The proximity is a plus, because we were able to meet the employees of Novalnet AG in person at short notice, so we could accelerate our tailormade implementation. We were absolutely surprised, when Novalnet was able to provide us top service within a very short time during an unforeseen challenge. Together we could resolve this situation real quick.
